Sevigny Performance at 2012 World Class Steel Northeast Regional 2

A last minute change in scheduling allowed us to compete June 1-3 at the 2012 World Class Steel Northeast Regional in New Jersey. Dave won 6 of the 7 stages and ultimately the Iron Sight Championship using a prototype 5” FNS 9mm and Sevigny Competition sights. This was the first major pistol competition with the new FNS for Dave. In the Open division, he was edged by 1/3rd of a second finishing in 2nd place overall and won three stages using a short-slide SVI 9mm and C-More sight. This was a good Open finish as Dave shot the match practically cold due to training with the FNS for the Iron Sight division earlier that week.

My own match went well as I competed in the Open Rimfire (.22’s) and Iron Sight division (9mm), placing 6th and 7th overall respectively. I love the Open Rimfire division but was happiest with my 7th place finish in Iron Sight as it was the largest with 108 people in this division. I was also recognized as Top Lady in both divisions at the WCS Championship. In my first full year competing I’ve entered both iron and open divisions in Steel Challenge, Pro-Am and USPSA events. Juggling so many divisions in shooting sports can have its ups and downs but my goal is to be a diverse competitor with a wide range of skills. My plan is to keep working hard and improve in each event.

Finally, the WCS Regional was a fun, well run match. The range is clean, proximity from the parking areas to the stages are close, they provided food and water to the competitors and are very generous with door prizes and awards- all for a fair match entry fee. If you have a chance to attend next year I would recommend it. The match website with results can be found here: http://www.worldclasssteel.com/dnn/About.aspx

The next event for Sevigny Performance will be the Pro-Am Championship in July. We hope to see you there! Anna Brooke, Sevigny Performance
